Check out Twitter
Twitter is my new thing. Lance Armstrong introduced it to me a couple of weeks ago. Check it out at www.twitter.com/sandymcilree I feel like I am cheating on my blog, espcially for all the people that check this out on a regular basis. I will try to update this blog too. This is way better for photos and videos. Twitter is just short little messages. Very addictive though.
Had a nice Christmas, first time in 6 years that Tricia and I didn't go to her grandparents ranch. We had dinner with her entire family last week at Threadgills.
Went hunting in Kerrville last week. I got the Black Buck I wanted. Duck season is next, I LOVE duck hunting.
Hoping to ride Motocross next week.

Bullet Points
Only one more show until the best show of the year. The "Bikes for Kids" Giveaway Show. It is at Mellow Johnnies this year at 4th and Nueces. Lots of hard work goes in to this every year and this year is no different. So many people to thank, mostly the listeners....Thanks, we did it again this year. Friday morning, 850 Trek Bikes, Locks and Helmets will find there way under a tree somewhere in Central Texas. If you donated, do me a favor on Christmas morning. Stop and think about that kid that you helped get a bike. I do it every year, it is a great feeling.
We'll be gone for 2 weeks, back on the air live on Monday the 5th. Keep checking the Blog, I plan on updating through out the break.
Lots of nice notes from listeners regarding my Christmas Letter this morning. Thank you it is appreciated. JB is always funny and will kill tomorrow at 8am.
What am I doing during the break? I am going to the Shonto Ranch on Monday to hunt a Black Buck. I know it sounds weird, but I am obsessed with this animal. We are going to hunt Monday and fish for trout on Tuesday. Check this place out: www.shontoranch.com great fishing deals. I am going with my one of my best friends, Moore and his son and my Godson, 7 Year old Hunter. I look forward to doing the same thing with my son when he comes.
I also plan on going to ride Motocross at the Texas Ski Ranch. Yep, you can ride dirt bikes at the ranch in New Braunfels, check it out www.texasskiranch.com This is a great gift for anyone, no experience is necessary. Hans is the instructor and he kicks ass. We rode the 45 mile Livestrong Ride together (on bicycles not motorcycles)
I hope the weather is nice because I want to play golf too.
The most ridiculous show on TV is on TRUTV: Rehab at The Hard Rock Hotel. If you haven't heard about it; every Sunday at the pool at The Hard Rock in Las Vegas is a huge party. Picture 80's style Spring break, Vegas Style. It is a reality show of the entire thing. Lots of Tats, Lots of idiots, Lots of Posers, Lots of Douchbags, lots of guys like Bobby Bones, lots of slutty girls, lots of guys from Jersey that think they are ballers, lots of vodka, lots of people that should have taken the first flight home on Sunday morning instead of going to Rehab.
Tricia is doing much better. I am happy for her, that first 3 months were rough. She is looking pregnant and I think it looks hot.
Having sushi with a good friend tonight at Musoshino, which is the best Sushi in Austin. You can keep all your cool trendy joints, I like my sushi old school, the way Smokey does it at Musoshino. This is the first time I have had sushi, in over 3 months. Pregnant chicks don't eat sushi. So far I figure the last three months has saved me $500.
This just in: The NBA has a huge image and product problem. The games are unwatchable. With the exception of a few superstars, the league is diluted with no-talents and trouble makers. My god, does anyone play defense? Frustrating for a sports fan.
Finish your Christmas shopping. The pressure is on for me to do a good stocking. Problem is, I don't "get" the stocking at all. I have pressure.
Do you twitter? Check me out at www.twitter.com/sandymcilree

Bullett Points
Tricia is starting to look pregnant and says she feels normal again. First Trimester was brutal on her.
The Comedy Show at the Paramount this Sunday is going to be a blast. Get your tickets at www.gettix.net
Ready for a break, last show is December 19th. End of year party is at Logans on 6 Street. Join us. We will be drunk and we will be disorderly
Looks like I am not going to Hawaii in Jan. Oh well, it isn't going to sink.
Looks like I am going on a Black Buck Hunt at the Shonto Ranch in December.
Going to a friends Ranch this weekend. Spending a weekend in the sticks (very nice sticks) is always good for the soul.
Everything is back to normal at the house after the fireplace/shop van fiasco. Thanks to Rick, Jaun and Jess at Sear Carpet and Air Duct cleaning. They are the best
Christmas Tree and decorations are up, I will post a photo later. Oh, we put Frost up in the front yard too. The kids in the neighborhood love it.
I am fighting off a cold. It happens to me every year, I'll have to see Dr. John soon.
Bumper has been gone just over a month, still hard to believe he isn't coming home. Bums me out.
Heard a rumor that a competing morning show host has a large unpaid gambling debt that may cause some problems. Again, just a rumor.
I like to gamble. I am not proud to admit it, but I had a bookie when I was 13 years old.
I am buying life insurance, wow, never thougth that would happen.

Bullet Points
90% sure we are having a boy. 2 Dr's have confirmed
I hate cold weather, absolutely hate it
Lance Armstrong joins us Wednesday at Mellow Johnnies Bikes Shop at 7:30
Please vote for the "Who Do You Know" Contest at www.mix947.com
Bikes for Kids is going well, you guys are so generous, thank you. I would challenge that no other radio show in town has more generous listeners than ours. I would also bet that none of them have done as much charity work as our show.
Brei on the show cracks me up. I love how honest she is about sex. Awesome
Lauren (our newest member) is great too, I think she may have added 10 years to my life. She takes care of all the things I want or wanted to take care of but never did. I love Lauren and her crazy head of hair. I think you would love her too. I don't know why she is single.
Crazy shooting at the new Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. A friend of mine was standing right next to the guy when he was shot. The shooter was loose in my neighborhood. I am not kidding, I had a 9mm pistol and a shotgun ready for action. I love being a Texan.
I may go to Hawaii in January. Really want to, just sorting some things out.
I am hoping to go back to Shonto Ranch and hunt a Black Buck Antelope, my friend Moore is going too.
I have a freezer full of Deer meat right now. Anyone need sausage? :)
Monday night football is on. Later.

Thanksgiving
Hey everyone, I am trying to get back to my blog on a regular basis. Bumpers passing really threw Tricia and I for a loop. Things are kind of back to normal but every once in a while I catch myself expecting Bumper to be around. Strange.
Tricia and I are off to my parents home in Omaha for Thanksgiving. I haven't been to Omaha in some time. Every time I go back, the town just gets bigger. I am going to catch up with a couple of friends, but mostly just hang with the family. I hope you Thanksgiving is great. I also hope for a Cowboy victory, the Longhorns whipping the Aggies and Oklahoma State beating Oklahoma. Not too much to ask for is it.
Bikes for Kids needs your help, please look up our locations at www.jbandsandy.com and come see us. If you can't come see us, please donate online at www.jbandsandy.com Lots of kids and parents are counting on us again this year and we need your help.
Big announcement when we get back from the Thanksgiving break. No joke here, big announcement. I will let you know here, so check back often.

Bumper is Getting Better
Thanks to everyone that has sent a kind note about Bumper. We still aren't sure what happened, but yesterday around 5:45 after coming in to eat, he started hyper salivating and then had a siezure. All symptoms point toward him ingesting some form of toxin, most likely from a Frog. The next 24 hours will tell us alot. Dr Murphy at Emergency Animal Care and Dr Faught at the Arbor Animal Clinic have been amazing. It has been a long, difficult 24 hours. Tricia and I love Bumper. Bumper will be in the hospital for another night. We hope he can come home soon.

Featured Blogger Colleen
1. All girls are crazy. the cool ones will admit it. Even WE don't understand why we can start crying for no reason. It's nuts. get over it.
2. The elusive "low maintenance" girl exists. But she still needs some kind of communication. If we text you its because we're bored and want to make sure you're still interested, and we are also texting our friends at the same time. We are not stalking you, this is normal communication. Girls talk more, give it some effort. she may be worth it. Check your ego.
3. When we have a bad day and you want to take the dinner pressure off us, don't take us somewhere YOU like. If her favorite place is Souper Salad and you hate green things, deal with it. It's HER bad day, not yours. Don't be a douche.
4. Accept that we wear makeup, it's an expense we wash off everyday but we feel better with it on even if you cannot tell the difference.
5. We like shoes, don't ask why and don't even volunteer to go shoe shopping. It's a bad idea for both parties. You get bored, we get annoyed you're infringing with our time caressing the oh-so-expensive Manolo's.
6. Best Buy is boring, we do not see the fun in being there more than to get a movie or CD or such. more than 20 minutes and you're looking at some time in DSW or Nordstrom as payback.
7. If you do not understand sports, do not try to talk about them like you do. We often know more than you think, then you just look stupid and will annoy us further (especially if you interrupted an important play and we're voluntarily at a sports bar and you're "trying" to pick us up).
8. You guys are horribly liars. If we "believe" you it's because we don't feel like dealing with it or have something else on the side too. We also have needs.
9. Your female friends are sick of you talking about your skanky girlfriends. Grow up and take a chance on someone who doesn't use both their brain cells trying to figure out what eye shadow makes her look thinner. We're bored with your parade of floozies.
10. If you have to ask if you look stupid in that shirt, the answer is yes.

Well, I didn't get a picture but I did get a good list off things women should know about women. For the record, this is an awesome list. Comments please. Also, thanks to everyone that send kind words about our contract renewal. We are very excited and feel very fortunate. We have another announcement coming on Monday. This is something totally new, something we have never done before. Check back here Sunday afternoon, I will let you guys know what is going on here before we announce it on the air. Also, the $20,000 "Who do you know" contest is back. Our lawyers sorted it out and we are ready. Contest starts on Monday. If you are new to this, if you can get a celebrity to call on your behalf, you could win $10k and the celeb wins $10k for the charity of their choice. We hope they will pick Bikes for Kids. We are in South Austin tomorrow (Friday, 7 Nov) at the SOuthpark Meadows Whataburger. If that is your hood we would love to see you. Keep listening, we will be in your neighborhood soon. With out further ado. Here is our latest "featured blogger" He goes by "Mini J.B. To Be"
Hey Sandy. I have a list of things girls should know about boys. Here they are:
1. Girls have no idea how we think about them. They always say "Oh do you think he likes my hair?" and we are NEVER thinking about their hair.
2. We really honestly do not care what girls are wearing.
3. When we are real quiet around you it means we don't want any trouble.
4. If we like you, you will know.
5. If you like us, we will know.
6. We are good to go after about 7 minutes on the phone with you. Any longer than that results in boredom.
7. Girls who are always perfect are annoying.
8. Girls should know that we rule the world.
9. If we are watching a sports event on TV do not even attempt to talk to us.
10. If you think something makes you look fat it probably does.
Thanks, mister. Hear you tomorrow.

Who Wants To Be A Featured Follower?
Thanks to Kimberly for her list of "Things Men Should Know About Women" You can read it just below this entry. It looks like the men that read this Blog are too lazy to come up with their own list. Come on fellas, do all the guys a favor and let the women know what they need to know. Write it up, send a pic with it and you will be the featured blogger.
Are you wondering what the "cool announcement" is tomorrow morning? Well wait no longer. JB and I are happy to tell you that we have signed a 5 year contract extension with MIX 94.7 This negotiation was the easiest we have ever done. You guys are stuck with us for 5 more years. It is hard to believe that we will be 45 years old and spent 18 years on the air in Austin at the end of this deal. Given the current economic environment, we fell very lucky to have a 5 year contract. So there you go, you heard it here first. Be sure to grab The Statesmam tomorrow. Michael Barnes is doing a piece on us in the "Coffee With" segment. I am very curious to see what he has to say, I hope it is nice. It would be wierd if he didn't like us, because I thought he was very cool. Still need more "Followers" sign up below, it is easy to do and a great way to track this blog.

Our First Featured Follower, Kimberly
Here is Kimberly, with "10 Things Men Should Know About Women." Who will be the next "Featured Follower?" Guys, I think it is your turn. Send me a picture of yourself and "10 Things Women Need To Know About Men"
Here is Kimberly:
1.) We check out other guys just like you check out other girls. We are human. Don't hate us for that. We are like you in that we like our occassional eye candy. Big whoop.
2.) We have to pee. A LOT. We have smaller bladders than you do, so please be patient. And for those of us that have had kids punch and kick our bladders in utero, the problem is much worse. So, when we say to pull over because we have to use the bathroom, just politely nod and do it!
3.) We really do like getting flowers. We know that you think that they are a big waste of time because eventually they do die, but it's the thought that counts! Flowers are like diamonds....you can never have too many!
4.) Occasionally we want to go to a healthier restaurant. Our appetites don't always match yours. Sometimes we just want soup or a salad. But if we do have to be dragged to one of *your* favorite restaurants, don't roll your eyes when we order something healthier off of the menu!
5.) We honestly hate going grocery shopping. If you want to help or even do it yourself, then have at it!
6.) We are not deaf. When you are watching a sporting event or a fishing/hunting show on TV, it doesn't have to be blaring. Please kindly turn down the volume!
7.) Doing the laundry doesn't constitute putting the clothes in the washer, putting the soap in, and turning it on. You forgot about putting the clothes into the dryer, turning it on, getting them out, folding them, and putting them away. If you want to pitch in, great. But please follow through! This is one of our biggest pet peeves!
8.) When you do complete a "chore", don't keep reminding us about it. We don't care. We do these things on a daily basis without being praised for it. Therefore, if there is no blue ribbon for us then there is no blue ribbon for you!
9.) We know that you sometimes use our cleansing products while in the bathroom/shower. Don't deny it. However, there are some made for men that we will gladly buy for you if you'd just fess up!
10.) And lastly, the horny feelings that you have after you've "had a few" aren't necessarily mutual. The groping needs to stop. We aren't turned on by your inebriated self. Sober up and then you might get some!
VP Debate
Did you hear the Final VP Debate this morning? Alot of you are asking for it. I sent an email to our Production Department asking them to post it on the website. I am sure they will. Keep going back to www.mix947.com
Thanks to everyone that donated to Bikes for Kids this morning. We will be at the Whataburger at Southpark Meadows on Friday Morning from 6am-10am. Please forgive us if we don't have time to chat. I feel like some of you think we are ignoring you, when really, we are on the air. If you can stick around for a commercial break, we would love to say hello and thanks.
Very cool announcement is coming this Thursday at 7:45am. Tune in for the details, or check this blog tomorrow afternoon. I'll give you guys the scoop here first. Also, pick up the Austin American Statesman on Thursday. Michael Barnes is featuring us in his "Coffee With" segment in the Metro section. We met with him a couple of weeks ago, had a chat, and enjoyed finally getting to know him a little. Michael is a very cool guy with long ties to Austin. We were thrilled that he wanted to talk to us and do the feature in the paper. I think he likes us, I guess we find out Thursday.
Still need more "Followers" of this Blog. I would love to hit 125 by the end of this week. Do I need to come up with some sort of incentive?
You could be featured on this blog. Here is what I need. I need women to write 10 things that men don't know about women. I need men to write 10 things that women don't know about men. You can keep this light-hearted. For example, You could tell men that women hate the word MOIST or that you never want to find anything of your ex's in their bathroom. Be creative, have fun with it. Please send it to me with a picture. I want to start featuring you on this Blog. I have a few other ideas to get you guys involved. This is testing the waters, if it goes well, we can do a bunch of other stuff.
Peace

Emmitt assults the English Language
I love Emmitt, but man this cracked me up. How does this guy keep his job on TV?
Great weekend
I spent the weekend just outside of Kerrville, at The Shonto Ranch. www.shontoranch.com It is an amazing place. We saw so many different species of animal is was incredible. We saw Black Bucks, Cimatar (sp) Wildabeast, Sika, White Tail Deer, Axis Deer (that is one of them in the photo) Red Sheep, and I know I am missing a few. If you ever get a chance to go to the Shonto Ranch, do it. Our guides name was CD and was amazing. He taught me alot about how these animals behave. All, you PETA people can save the emails, I respond to them with an embedded virus that will make your computer very very sick.

Hey We Made it
Well, we finally got 100 people to "Follow" this blog. I am very proud. We need more but 100 was a good start. I promised you the, "Gator Hunt" video (it is below) but please look at the entry below it too. The photos at the left give you some prespective of the size of the Gator. I am 6'1" and 240 pounds and this guy dwarfs me. The other picture gives you some scale as the gator is strung up next to two small chilldren. We have a great contest starting. If you can get a big celebrity to call us, it may win you $10,000 and the celebs charity $10,000. Listen Thursday (30 Oct) for more details In the meantime, enjoy the final minutes of a 2 hour gator hunt. This gator is 12 feet long. While watching this, please keep in mind that there is nothing stopping this Gator from coming AT us. Be warned, there is adult language and violence in this clip. I will be eating the tail and cheeks of the gator and making boots and luggage of his skin. I am going deer hunting this weekend, I will let you know how it goes. You first 100 "Followers" will always be my favorite. Next goal is 101 followers. Maybe we will have a party if we hit 150
$20,000
It's called "Who Do You Know?" Here is how it works, you get a celebrity to call us and you could win $10,000 and the celeb gets $10,000 for their charity. We will have online voting for the celebs, we will give you the number for them to call tomorrow morning at 7:30. So, "Who do you know?" You get them to call on your behalf, you could win $10,000 and the celeb gets $10,000 for their charity. More details in the morning. We are really excited about this contest. Huge guests will be calling.

Almost to 100 Followers
It has taken a little longer than I had thought, but this silly little blog has almost 100 "Followers" The offer is still good, once I get 100 people to follow this blog, I will repost the Gator Hunt video. Scroll to the bottom of this and become a follower.
Following this Blog is going to pay off for you tomorrow afternoon. Why? Well, you will be the first to know about a $20,000 contest that we are kicking off on Thursday morning. I will let all of you here know about it first and trust me, knowing first will help you win the prize. The contest that we are doing is one that I have wanted to do for a long time and we just got approval for it. Even if you don't win the contest, you will love listening to it. I will tell you this, it isn't The Fugitive. That was fun but this one will be funner. Is funner a word? Check back here tomorrow afternoon.
Bikes for Kids starts NEXT week! Can you believe that? If you are new to the show, every year we raise money from our listeners to by 800 new Trek Bikes for kids that would never get one. We will be at HEB and Whataburgers all over Central Texas, so listen for details.
I have dropped a few pounds lately. Wanna know how I did it and will continue to do it? Cut back on alcohol and get some exercise. Pretty simple. I am waiting for Oprah to call and have me on her show to tell everyone. I have cut way back on the booze and started riding my bike again. Of all the exercise out there, riding the bike is the best for me.
Hooked on Red Bull. Not hooked, but it has replaced my cup of coffee on the way to work. I swear I can't make it to the station without it. Stuff isn't cheap though. No wonder they can afford cool promotion and airplanes and stuff. At $2.50 for 8.3 oz I would imagine they are doing okay.
Gas prices. I paid $2.33 today. I swear, I thought I would never see a gallon of gas less than $3
The Shield is on. Late!

oops
Well, I hope you gamblers out there didn't lose money on my Longhorn prediction. It was a good game. For all you people that think Texas looked bad, keep in mind that this Oklahoma State team was a top ten team. The third top 10 team that the Longhorns have played in as many weeks. That is tough on anyone. Alot of credit should go to Coach Mack Brown and his staff. Keeping a #1 ranked team motivated week in and week out is no easy task. Texas has become one of the premier football programs in the country under Coach Brown. Longhorn fan has not always been so rabid. Lets us not forget the Longhorn teams of the mid 80's. if you can believe it, the stands were half empty and you could get a ticket for less than face value. Thanks Coach, it is great to be a Longhorn fan.
UT vs OSU
Last week I was very accurate with my football prediction, so here is this weeks. Longhorns 42 Cowboys 17
40 mile ride in the Livestrong weekend. Did a 40 mile last week and had no problem, I am pretty sure this one will be a problem. Last week was flat, this week is in the Hill Country. Hill being the operative word. Originally planned to be a 60 mile ride, I think I have talked my friends in to doing the 40. I will let you know how it goes.

Walberg talks to Animals
Tina Fey has been getting all the run lately for her Sarah Palin skit, but I think this is the funniest thing SNL has done this season.
Lindsay Lohan on Ugly Betty
Lindsay is going to do 5 episodes of Ugly Betty this season. Here is a sneak Peek

Halloween and Thanksgiving
Have you taken a look at your calender? The Holidays are closing in on all of us. I am proud to say that I have 75% of my Christmas shopping done and my Christmas lights are hung. I have never been one to get anything done early, this year I will. Shopping on-line makes it so much easier. Just grap your credit card and start shopping, it is so easy. I plan on having everything done by Halloween. Have you guys seen the big blow up spiders that you put on your roof or your front yard? I have to have one of these. I will be swinging by Wal Mart this week. I need a purple one and I am going to put it on my roof. Last year I had a 7" Frosty The Snow Man in my yard, this year it is spiders.
Tricia and I are going to see my parents in Omaha for Thanksgiving. I bought tickets months ago and we are really lookng forward to it. Thanksgiving at my parents place is really cool. Imagine an extremely formal dinner with the Cowboys on the TV in the dining room. Mom loves the Cowboys and so do I. I know the Boys suck right now, but trust me, they will make the playoffs. I am also trying to get together with some old friends while I am there. I have only stayed in touch with 2 friends from High School and one from College. I am going to throw them all together for dinner the Saturday after Thanksgving.
I can't believe I am cheering for the Red Sox. The only reason is because I can't stand Tropicana Field. I can't imagine a World Series being played there. The stadium suck, the field sucks the whole thing sucks. Go Sox, then go Phillies.
Watching NFL on line, it isn't that bad.

Great Day in Austin, Texas
Today is one of the many reasons we love to live in Austin. Beautiful weather and a #1 football team. I rode the 40 mile ride in the Outlaw 100 in Round Rock. Great day, we actually rode 46 miles because we took a wrong turn somewhere. Visited Alex's tailgate party today too. Let me tell you, dude throws a great party. Spent some time with his fiance, Andrea. They are starting to wade in to the pool of wedding planning. I don't envy them. I rode my buddy Tom's scooter from South Congress to Campus. Man, that is the way to get around downtown I didn't stick around for the game. Prediction Horns 55 Mizzou 35

Trying To Get 100
Thanks to everyone that has signed up to "Follow" this blog. If you haven't, go to the bottom of this page and do it. It makes it alot easier to keep up. If I get 100 people to do it, I will repost my Gator Hunt video.
Busy show tomorrow. We start out with a Mega Mix at 6:00, after saying goof morning to Meg. After that, JB will share the news with us. I am sure there will be something in there about Madonn and Guy Ritchie divorcing. Personally, I really don't care about an anorexic, 50 something, over-the-hill pop star, that shoots her big fat mouth off all the time, but other than the election, thats the news. Speaking of the election, will it please end. I am so sick of the entire thing. I don't think either one of the candidates can fo 1/4 of what they are promising, so please just get it over with. I did get a kick out of "Joe The Plumber" nothing like a good ol guy from the Midwest cornering a slick politician with a little common sense. Do you guys think it sucks as bad as I do, that Joe and a bunch of other Joes are going to be penalized (heavily taxed) for pursuing the "American Dream?"
Cecily reviews movies for us at 7:05. The new Oliver Stone movie, "W" premiered tonight here in Austin at the Paramount. I heard Josh Brolin was in town and that Oliver Stone might make it too.
Coach Brown calls in at 7:20 Friday Morning. The Horns are #1 in the country, I wonder what coach has to sa about that?
High School Football Smackoff at 7:40. Call in and run some smack about your teams opponent.
Still working on the rest of the show.
Wow, the Tampa Bay Rays are really good. Looks like A Tampa V Philly World Series. As of this writing, they lead 5-0 in the 5th inning. I don't see how the Rays can be beat. Makes for an ugly World Series, the dome the Rays play in disgusting, very hard to look at on TV.
7pm kick for the Horns on Saturday. I think it is the first game that will actually be played in Football weather in like 5 years. Temps should bein the 70's by kickoff. I may check out Alex's tailgate, but I am definetly not going to the game. I am very uncomfortable in crowds, and thats the biggest crowd in Texas on Saturday.

Bumper's big bone
I was at Target and I saw this ridiculous bone, and I had to get it for my dog, Bumper. Tricia and I are pretty sure it is a bone of a pre-historic animal, probably a Woolly Mammoth, we not sure.
We always wondered what Bumper did with his bones, I finally caught him in the act. This video is a rare as a Big Foot or Loch Ness video. He is very secretive. I wouldn't be suprised if he moves it in the middle of the night. This is the type of thing you do, when you only work 4 hours aday.
I still need more people to Follow this blog. Go to the bottom and do it please.

Welcome new Followers
Hey, nice work! I am up to 27 Followers on this silly little blog. Thanks for all the help in understanding what "Following" a Blog means. I now am starting to understand it. Thanks for all the info. If you are new to the whole "follower" thing, read the comement on the blog under this. You guys really get this thing. If you haven't become a "follower" (okay, that just sounded very creepy, very religious/cult like and I don't like it, but I have no other name for it, blame it on Google, they came up with it) Go to the bottom of this page and do it, then read the comments on the blog under this. I'll make you a deal, if I can get 100 "Followers" on this thing by Friday at 3pm, I will repost the video of my Gator Hunt. If you saw it, you are lucky, if you haven't, you must. Oh I also have a goofy video of my dog burying a bone. Check back this evening for it. Enjoy the rain. Here is my football prediction for this week Texas 58 Mizzou 30

Follow This Blog
Ok, I need a little help. I need two things. One, I need to know what it means if you are a follower of this blog. I really don't know what the benefits of following a blog are. Do you get an email or something when a new blog is posted? Don't get me wrong, I love that I have 13 followers, I want more followers, but I want someone to tell me what it means. I think this blog is a great extension of the radio show and I am slowwwwwly learning more and more about it. So...do 2 things, go to the bottom of this page and become a follower and tell me what that means for you. Once I know I think I can do a better job with this blog.
Here is the video from this morning. Bri is dressed to look pregnant and is smoking. Someone finally said something.

For All You Salespeople
I am no sales person, in fact it makes me sick to my stomach thinking about selling something. I don't know how sellers do it. The uneasyness of the back and forth about price, wondering if you are asking too much. Ugh, makes me ill. I am going through this right now. A friend of mine and I bought a 3 year old boat dock, purely to sell it. We bought it cheap and are trying to make a few bucks off it. I now find myself having to show the damn thing, answer questions, negotiate, it makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it. So here's to you all you sells people. I couldn't do it everyday. Off to show this thing, wish me luck.
Be an organ donor
Over the weekend I became an organ donor and am going to give away everything. You can too. Here is the website. http://www.donatelife.net/

not user friendly
So,I've been told that this Blog is the most unuser friendly blog ever. Hmm, I guess I'll work on that. If you have any tips, send them my way.
I played golf with my buddies today...bad idea. Broken finger is not healed. Painful.
After a year of my wireless internet working, it is now working. I bought a cheap new router at Best Buy. While installing the software, I got a code that was needed to unlock the signal. Somehow I lost the code on the previous router. Anyway, I am happy to haveit working again. Now all I have to do is learn how to transfer data from my completely full internal hard dive to my new external in order to clear up some space on my pc. I will do anything to NOT have to buy a new computer.
I'm glad I don't have money in the stock market, although I think it is time to buy. Tricia and I feel very blessed, we are able to make our mortgage, pay our bills and save. My Dad always said to save for a rainy day, I think I just felt a drop. Do yourself a favor, pay off your debt ahead of time, don't take on any more debt, eat at home, exercise, appreciate what you have. Don't loan anyone money.
Horns at 11am tomorrow. Prediction Horns 24 Sooners 23
Have a great weekend

This is the mess that welcomed me to work this morning. Someone left this plate of food in the studio all night long. Whoever it is must be busy I timed how long it took to throw this away. How long? 3 seconds. This drives me crazy.

Top 10 songs that Hit #1
THE TOP 10 WORST SONGS TO HIT #1 ON THE CHARTS:
Everyone knows that some pretty stupid songs have somehow managed to hit #1 on the charts over the years . . . and because of that, they'll probably never completely fade away to take their rightful place in obscurity.
--Some dude at Spike.com has put together a list of The Top 10 Worst Songs That Hit #1. And in a sheer stroke of genius, he topped the list with JAMES BLUNT'S abomination, "You're Beautiful".
(--For what it's worth, all ten songs were released in the past 20 years. That either says something about the age of the guy who did the list . . . or it says something about the quality of the "hits" over the past two decades.)
--Here's the list:
#10.) "Never Gonna Give You Up", RICK ASTLEY (1988)
#9.) "Batdance", PRINCE (1989) (--It was on the "Batman" soundtrack.)
#8.) "Don't Worry, Be Happy", BOBBY MCFERRIN (1988)
#7.) "I Want It That Way", The BACKSTREET BOYS (1999)
#6.) "I'm Too Sexy", RIGHT SAID FRED (1992)
#5.) "Bad Day", DANIEL POWTER (2006)
#4.) "Who Let the Dogs Out?", BAHA MEN (2000)
#3.) "Wannabe", The SPICE GIRLS (1997)
#2.) "Macarena", LOS DEL RIO (1995)
#1.) "You're Beautiful", JAMES BLUNT (2005)

Cheeseburger Brocks List
Top Cheeseburgers in the Austin Area: (no particular order except Crown & Anchor currently is #1)
Some of my criteria include-must have good fries, a good shake is always a plus. And make it simple for the consumer and the atmosphere must be one you want to frequent.
This list does not include fast food. That is a separate category I am working on.
-Crown & Anchor-great atmosphere, spectacular fries, col' beer from around the world. (Mustard only for me)
-Dirty's-more history and Longhorn tradition than any other joint in town. On anyday you could see Coach Brown, Coach Barnes, Coach Auggie, Ben Crenshaw and even Quinton Tarintino eating here. Go by yourself and sit at the bar. (Mustard and Pickle only on the large cheeseburger for me)
-Mike's Pub-simple but excellent. Nice grease on top of bun and coldest beer in town. (put your own fixin's on, mustard and onion for me)
-Lee's Almost by the Lake (Spicewood, Tx)- worth the drive to cure a hangover on Saturday. (all the way minus lettuce for me)
-Diamond Inn (Taylor, Tx)-Same grill from the original Diamond Inn in the 1960's and 1970's. Only serve cheeseburgers Thursday's-Saturday (order just like it comes, don't mess with a good thing)
-PTerry's-easiest menu in town, quick convenient but darn good burgers and shakes. (I get mine without the special sauce)
-Shuggies-great hangout at the South Austin Trailer Park Eatery. Unique bun with the black pepper, large patties and beer battered fries. (mustard and pickle on for me)
-Mighty Fine Burgers-only fresh cut crinkle fries in the great state of Texas. I once ate the largest cheeseburger of my life here because I ordered wrong. It was good but quite a challenge I wasn't going to back down from. (yellow and white only for me)
-Mooyah Burgers & Fries-new in town but moving up the ranks quick. Great bun and cheese is melted into the meat to give it the real "dive" taste. Fresh cut fries daily with good shakes. (mustard and pickle only for me)
-Hut's-best variety in town. Cool place with good shakes. (Chubby Checker for me)
-Ski Shores-great place to stop by to refresh those burning ski legs or drive to after you run your dogs at Turkey Creek. (mustard only for me)
-Poodies on 71- worth the drive again. Go in the evening and you might catch Willie but you will probably catch some good live music and a good buzz. (mustard, pickle and onion for me)
-Billy's on Burnett-great little spot for lunch. Nice thick pattie with some of the nicest people in Austin waiting on you. A Green Bay Packer joint with Beer Brats on Game Day. If you are a Packer fan which I am you gotta go on game day. (if ever in Green Bay you must eat at Kroll's, and it has to be Kroll's East not West. (mustard only for me)
-Jim's-everyone knows about Jim's. Next time look past the breakfast menu and order the Frontier burger. (I get mine just like it comes minus lettuce of course)
-Nau's-old school cheeseburgers with history, enough said. (mustard, pickle and onion only)
-Casino El Camino-order like it comes or get out. No substitutions. nice greasy burger to warsh down your col' beer.
-Red Robin-typically not a fan of chains but the Royal Red Robin (with a fried egg) is worth going. Great shakes. (like it comes minus lettuce of course)
-Mo Willy Golf Course-every muny golf course has a great greasy burger or its not a really muny. This is the best muny cheeseburger in town. They even have watered fairways now. (mustard only for me)
-Arkie's-cool little spot on the east side. Sit at the counter get a burger, skip the shake and go right for the homemade pie. (mustard only for me)
-The Frisco Shop-(formerley Night Hawk for those true Austinites). Old school burger served wrapped in paper. Its gotta be good because its messy. (I get mine the way it comes minus lettuce of course)
-Gus's Grill would make the list but I heard it closed. I have yet to confirm that. If open another great east side spot.

5 Ways to get your kids to bed
Children need a sleep schedule to make sure they're rested for school, sports, and day-to-day activities. But try explaining that to a 6-year-old who wants to stay up. Well, here are five tips to get those kids to bed . . .
#1.) DON'T SERVE DINNER LATE. Feeding your kids right before bedtime gives them more energy to stay awake, AND it's bad for their bodies. Try to eat dinner a few hours before bedtime so your kids can metabolize the food before it's time to fall asleep.
#2.) SET A CONSISTENT BEDTIME. A good bedtime for young kids is 8 o'clock. Whatever time you choose, make sure you're CONSISTENT, so you don't mess with their internal clocks.
#3.) AVOID LATE ACTIVITIES. Try not to plan activities . . . especially physical ones . . . right before bed, or you risk missing bedtime and having to deal with a sleep-deprived child the next day.
#4.) GIVE THEM A BATH. Taking a bath an hour before bedtime can help your kids relax, AND it should make them sleepy too. It's also a good way to divide PLAYTIME and BEDTIME.
#5.) DON'T LEAVE THE TV ON. Letting your kids fall asleep with the TV on keeps them up, and creates a bad habit that can follow them into adulthood. Instead, play some light music or read to them. OR, if they're old enough, encourage THEM to read.

Back on the Bike
I mentioned on the show that I told my friend Steve that I would do the 60 mile Livestrong Bike Ride with him in October. So, in teh last week, I've had my bike tuned up and got some new shoes and pedals. I have ridden twice, once with Tricia on her first ride and once alone. Both rides were about an hour at a decent pace for me. Well, there are a bunch of people from our Corporate Office in town for a convention at the Hilton. We had a little Happy Hour thing last night with everyone and I ended up talking to the Big Boss, the first thing he asks me is if I had been riding my bike much? He is an avid cyclist and in great shape. Anyway, me and JB start chattting and figured out we could go for a ride today (Wednesday) Our friend John Korioth is joining us. I am nervous because I am afraid I will embarass myself. It is only going ot be an hour and half ride, I just hope they don't kill me. I'll let you know how it goes.

Joe Boden...Foot in Mouth
I like Joe Biden, but he has a tendency to put his foot in his mouth. In this awkward video, Joe asks a man in a wheelchair to stand up.

Finally the Weekend
Did you wake up this morning a little disappointed in the weather? I feel for all the people along the coast and on Galveston Island. But man, I was hoping for some rain. Oh well, I guess I can live without rain while all those people live without power. Donate if you can,
Please throw us a vote on this silly little poll. My dad called yesterday and wanted to know why were weren't winning. I told him it is because we are honest. http://www.austin360.com/alist/content/alist/youralist_index.html

Hey, how about a vote?
Hey, we know we aren't going to win this thing, but we want to at least show up on it. So, we would appreciate a vote. Our parents look at these things and we don't want to embarass them. We are pretty sure this contest is rigged, but we appreciate your vote.

Very cool
I'm not sure if the Mayor of El Paso sent out a memo telling everyone to be nice but everyone sure is. I managed to talk a guard in to letting me see the stadium this morning. Very cool but tons of grasshoppers. Kind of weird.

Off to El Paso
Everyone from show (except) Bri are off to El Paso tomorrow for the big UT VS UTEP Football game. Alex has been excited about his for a year and half and has busting his butt to make sure everything runs smoothly. This is a big big deal for him. He has made all the arraingements. We have tickets, we have hotel, we have transportation, we have golf on Sunday, we have a bar that is home base right across the street from the hotel. We have the makings of a maniacal weekend. Alex told us today that he didn't want to buy any Longhorn gear because he was saving his monee for bottle service at a club. There is a guy with his priorities in tact. We will be keeping you posted here with what we are up to while in El Paso.
I starting counting how many days on the lake I can get in the summer. I only count days that someones wakeboards, surfs, or wakeskates. I got my new boat exactly 4 months ago and so far I have 36 days of wakeboarding in. Life is good. This weekend is going to kill me though. I lose three days of no lake. Saturday and Sunday mornings are the days I enjoy the most. I have a group of neighbors that always head out at 8am. Why so early? To get all the good water (flat water) Its fun t hear what everyone did the night before, to bet on if someone is going to puke, etc. Just good times with neighbors. A few of us end up at Jims at 183 and McNeil for breakfast. Try the Blueberry Pancakes with Whip Cream. It is my personal favorite, with a large glass of milk.

World Ugliest Suit
Who wears a suit like this? The suit is too big, and just ugly. Buy a Big Boy Suit.
It seems I am always having things jump in my head that I think about for a while but never seek out the answer. I guess that means it isn't that important to me. Here is the latest one: How many trees have been saved since the advent of email? It has to be a ton. Why doesn't the guy that invented email get an award from an environmental agency or organization. How bad did email hurt the downtown courier? No need to call some hippie with a bike to take your document three blocks away when you can attatch it to an email. Hippy has to hate email. I think Hippy probably hates alot of things, no idea though, never been around too many hippies. Hippy needs to take a bath.
I bet divorced parents love Text Messaging. No need to speak to the person you had to go to court to get away from. Texting probably eliminates a ton of nasty words. Unless, you send a text that says, "Efff you, you got half my crap, I hate you." Nah, just send something like, "I will pick up the kids tomorrow" Texting is great, probably saves alot useless conversation amongst everyone. But divorced parents have to love it.
Why am I talking about divorce? I just got married.
"The Shield" starts tonight "Entourage" on Sunday and the NFL on Thursday. It is going to be a great year for The Cowboys
