How To Lose Twice As Much Weight

I read about this in "Time" magazine. After a 6 month of study of men and women trying to lose weight they found that the people the wrote down what the ate in a food diary, lost twice as much weight as those that didn't. They also suggested sharing your diary with a friend or loved one. This makes you accountable to someone. There point was that you if you tell someone you are going to lose weight, you don't want them to see that you ate 6 chocolate chip cookies. So there you go, it will cost you nothing to lose twice as much weight, simply write it down.

I finally started reading "Marley and Me" and I just don't think I can finish it. It makes me think too much about my dog, Bumper and the day that we lose him. Bumper is having some issues right now and it makes me worry about him. He has a couple of lumps that the Vet says are nothing to worry about and he is losing his hair. He is still very active and loves to ride on the boat and run around. The book just brought me down. I know I said I would read it, but I just get too bummed out when I do.

We are off to Denver on Wednesday for a radio conference. So we are out Thursday and Friday.

Beautiful North Idaho

I been to alot of places, and I think North Idaho wins. Beautiful Lake Couer D'Allane. Great golf at Black Rock, great people, great food, great fly fishing on the Saint Joe. Just georgous country. Great Dice game at "One Shots" across the river. We met some friends that are from the area and they showed us a great time. Would any of you care if I did the show from Idaho a couple of weeks or maybe a month a year? I don't think you would tell the difference. Something I need to talk to the suits about. Hre are a few shots of the trip. Very tired right now and need sleep. My Lunesta is kicking in

Vacation Part 2`

Here is the worst thing about vacation....breaking your old sleeping habits. I woke up this morning at 4:30 like I always do, but I didn't have to get up, so I woke up every 1/2 hour until 8am. This will continue for a a few days, then it will go away and I will be able to sleep in. The problem is; just when I get it right, I have to change it all over again. Small problem to deal with, but none the less, it is annoying.

My sister and nephews were here for a few days. Here are the highlights: Both boys (13 and 14 years old) learned to wakeboard. I was impressed with both of their skills. We also spent a day at Schlitterbahn. I haven't been there in 10 years, we had a good time. The best part was seeing the two 20 something year old hot blondes getting arrested and humiliated in front of everyone waiting for the bus to go to the other side of the park. I wish I would have taken a picture. Turns out they were arrested for indecent exposure and public intoxication. All this at 3pm.....nice, classy! I am sure there parents are proud.

Tricia and I leave for Northern Idaho on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to getting out of the heat for a few days. We plan on Fly Fishing, playing golf, and taking it easy.

More Later!

Fiesta

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that my wife threw a killer birthday party for me. Nothing fancy, just good friends, cold beer, margaritas, tacos and Sombreros and mustaches. I thought you might enjoy a few pictures

What Are Friends For?

Hey what are friends for, right. This was taken at my buddy Brock's parents house in Atchison, Kansas after his daughter (the one he is holding) was baptized. My boy's hands were full and I knew he needed a Shiner Bock, so I lent him a hand. I am sure this is a photo his daughter will love when she is in college.

Random Notes

Man, can you believe it is already July? The 4th came and went. There are some interesting things going on though:

Just when I thought it was the Dog Days of Summer for the sports fan, we have the greatest Tennis Match ever played. If you missed the Wimbledon Mens Final, watch it. Even if you aren't a tennis fan. Sports is the greatest reality show on TV.

If you are an Olympics fan, you have to get hip to the Dara Torres story. She is a 41 year old swimmer that will be competing in her 5th Olympics. She kicks ass.

Hey not to get political here, but I saw something on CNN that stuck with me. Guess how many days Barack Obama spent in the US Senate before he decided he wanted to run for president? Ready? 143 yep 143 days and he decided to be the leader of the free world. Again, not getting political here, but I have chicken that has been in my freezer longer than that. Just to be fair, I don't think McCain would last 143 days in to the job if he won. Basically, it looks like we are all screwed. Don't you love the rising prices of everything?

Vacation. I'm ready for it. Enough said.

Swollen Members: Ever heard of them. They have been around a while, but I just heard about them. Cool hip hop out of Vancouver. Here is what a loser I am. I heard them on a wake boarding video I was watching on You Tube. Grab some of their stuff for free at www.swollenmembers.com Probably not for the kids. There, you got a warning.

Why do I get return address labels mailed to me when I never asked for them? How do they know that I need them and I use them? I can't understand this.

Wild Weekend Ahead.....Maybe

This is for all the women out there that leave there man to go spend time with their girlfriends. My wife is leaving tomorrow to spend the weekend with her best friend. A friend she has had since she was 11. They were in the Band together in high school and have live lifes ups and downs together. You know the old saying, "when the Cat's away, the dog will play?" Well, this is how the Dog usually plays. After trying to put something together with friends, that includes alot of beer drinking, golf, and possible gun shooting. It will end up with a pizza, a six pack and if lucky a UFC on Time Warner Cable Pay-per-View. Suprisingly, I am cool with that. I turned 40 last week and have really noticed a change in my will to make the effort to go downtown for a wild night. I would bet that I have had more wild nights then you and 5 of your friends combined. I am wild nighted out. I have been there and done that and have the credit card receipts to prove it. At the risk of sounding really lame, here is a list of things I used to do, that I have no desire to do any more.

Wait in line to get in a club
Start the night at 11:30
Go see a band that someone told me is great
Pick up on chicks. My God that sounds painful. Sorry for all the guys going through it
Taking a chance on a first date, they always suck
Getting really drunk and having regrets in the morning
Going to one bar, deciding it sucks and going to another that sucks harder
Staying up all night
Going to some strangers "after party"

There are things I don't want to do, here are a few that I do want to do
Wakeboard on Lake Travis at 8am then go eat breakfast with my wakeboarding friends
Watch the old 80's movie "Used Cars" just to see if it is as funny as it used to be
Play golf with my buddies and drink a few beers
Take a nap on the couch
Clean out my garage
Watch the AT&T Golf Tournament
Eat a hot dog off the grill, hey its the 4th of July

I would do all these things if my wife wasn't leaving town, she is very cool about all that stuff. So I guess things aren't that different. Having the house to myself is nice though
